Get it Down 31 for 21: Post 26

I promise to post the new winner clip tomorrow morning, but the internet connection at home is SO slow that it would take forever to get it done here. So in the mean time, I want to ask a question:

Why do most of the kids with DS have to have a neck x-ray around 2-3 years old? I don’t think this is done here in Austria (or in Sweden)?

  1. I found this article that explains it.

No one has told us to do an x-ray yet (maybe she’s too young?) but I do remember something about not doing tumbling or gymnastics -type classes.

  2. Hmm I think my comment got lost.

    This article explains it.

We haven’t had an x-ray yet but there was something about being careful with, or avoiding, gymnastics or tumbling classes.

  3. It is called an AAI Xray…It looks to see if the ‘lax muscles’ in the neck are supporting the spine and are strong enough to protect from trauma(like from sports and sudden jerks of the head. You can look up atlantoaxial instability also called AAI and get better words on it than I can give ya!
