I am a 31 year old Swede figuring out how to live life in Europe after a decade in the US. This is a peek into our lives in Austria with Prince Vince. Vincent was born on May 12, 2006 with an extra chromosome aka Down syndrome (Translocation 21;21). This blog is about living life Upside Down.
So we are safely back in Austria after an excellent trip. I had the best time with the Vincent Shoe Store people and also met many of the other Vincent franchisers from around the world. I spent some time in the store learning all kinds of stuff about children’s feet and I have seen the first drawing of MY store – and yes, I am officially going to be a mall rat! The space in the mall I really, really, REALLY wanted is mine. I met the ‘original’ Vincent who is turning 9 in a few weeks and I met the designers as well as Vincent’s parents. I am truly excited to be part of this company and I am so happy I came across the ad in the magazine during the summer that eventually led me to this point!
The flight back was OK, Vincent was being as nice as ever, but our stroller is completely broken… I hate that you are not able to bring it with you and check it at the gate in Sweden, and as expected, it is now in a thousand pieces… Not quite, but almost, we will get the new one as soon as Lufthansa figures out how to get it here as you can not buy it in Austria.
Bookie, the globetrotter, is off from work tomorrow and we are going to buy a new computer as this one is CRAP! I am filled with passionate hate for this slow moving machine, and I am no longer afraid to jinx it as the computer now should beg for its own future instead of me begging for it to work faster…
